Three members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Imo State died in a traffic accident on their way to Abuja to attend the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly.
It is reported that the bus they were traveling on collided head-on with another vehicle along Agbor Road in Delta State in the early hours of Monday, June 12.
Others injured in the crash were taken to hospital for treatment.
Two of the dead, both men, were from Amaraku, while the other was a woman from Ogbor, all in the state’s Isiala Mbano Local Government Area.
They will support Patrick Ndubueze, Senator-elect of Okigwe Region and Miriam Onuoha Northern Okigwe Federal Constituency for the inauguration to be held on Tuesday, June 3.
Party spokesman in Imo state Cajetan Duke described the incident as a sad development.
“They are traveling on two buses. That is a sad development. The party is very sad because of the development. We pray to God to accept their souls.” he say.
