The senator representing the Eastern Niger Senate District, Mohammed Sani Musa, also confirmed the attack on Sunday and expressed concern that the robbers had resumed attacks on four Rafi local government councils, Paikoro, Munya and Shiroro belong to his constituency.

Niger State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who also confirmed the attack, was unable to confirm the exact number of casualties, saying instead that police coordinated with troops have been sent to Yakila, Tegina, Kagara, Pandogari, Kusherki and other villages to restore normalcy in the affected areas.
