A community leader in one of the villages confirmed the attack but wished to remain anonymous for security reasons, claiming that the bandits had continued their attacks with full force on several villages. village in local government.

Speaking to Channels TV, community leaders called on the state government and security agencies to help ease their hardship, saying the community has been surrounded by robbers for the past two weeks as the situation worsens. worse than.

The senator representing the Eastern Niger Senate District, Mohammed Sani Musa, also confirmed the attack on Sunday and expressed concern that the robbers had resumed attacks on four Rafi local government councils, Paikoro, Munya and Shiroro belong to his constituency.

However, Senator Musa expressed confidence that the administration of President Bola Tinubu will soon solve the security challenges in the state and Nigeria in general.

Niger State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who also confirmed the attack, was unable to confirm the exact number of casualties, saying instead that police coordinated with troops have been sent to Yakila, Tegina, Kagara, Pandogari, Kusherki and other villages to restore normalcy in the affected areas.
