Mourners seen flogging relative’s corpse during funeral (Video below)

A video that has caused mixed reactions captures the moment mourners are disciplining the bodies of their deceased loved ones.

The incident happened in an African country as part of a funeral rite.

These people can be seen taking turns using sticks to beat the corpse inside an open coffin.

It has been gathered that it is common for the deceased to commit suicide and that whipping is often done to dispel the spirit of suicide in the community.

In the clip, mourners are only moments away from lowering the coffin into the grave when they stop and decide to drop the body.
