The Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, a prominent missionary based in Port Harcourt, eventually settled the charges against him by former security guards, the Happie Boys.
The viral duo, Matthew Precious Kelechi and Amakor Johnson, have publicly criticized the philanthropist, accusing him of stopping their fully funded scholarships and allegedly abandoning them without support. any help in Cyprus.
Reacting to the accusations, the Apostle Chibuzor took to his Facebook page to provide his story.
He revealed that he has paused funding their scholarship due to the rising dollar rate, which has placed a significant financial burden on him.
The chaplain explained that he has more than 4,000 individuals on his scholarship programs and the escalating costs become overwhelming.
The Apostle Chibuzor made it clear that the suspension of the scholarship also affected other students, and he informed their parents of the situation.
He suggested they alternative option is to allow their children to continue their studies at any university in Nigeria or the Republic of Benin, considering the financial constraints he faces.
Despite the way the Happie Boys handled the situation, the Apostle Chibuzor expressed his forgiveness towards them.
He expressed his willingness to restore their scholarship at any university in Nigeria or the Republic of Benin.
In addition, he ensured that the necessary arrangements were made for the duo’s return to Nigeria.
He wrote;
“I have also contacted every parent and presented them with the options of either returning to Nigeria and continuing their education or going to the Republic of Benin. Now, for God’s sake and as a father, I have decided to forgive the Happie Boys for whatever they have posted against me and the church. On this note, I have decided to reinstate their scholarship to continue my studies at any university in Nigeria or the Republic of Benin. I instructed the nanny, whom I hired to take care of them, to arrange tickets for them to return to Nigeria.”
